Nursing Philosophy
Nursing is a balance between physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. My nursing philosophy centers around serving individuals, families and communities using a holistic approach. I am committed to altruism, charisma, empathy, and knowledge, and applying it to the protection, promotion, and enhancement of holistic health of all people, and to strive to uphold these ideals in both the professional arena and outside the workplace. Every person has unique health needs and is entitled to respectful, compassionate and competent care.
I plan to achieve this through utilizing my strengths. With strategic as a top strength, I am able to create alternative ways to proceed, when faced with any given scenario, I can quickly spot the relevant patterns and issues. As a developer, I am able to recognize and cultivate the potential in others. As an achiever, I have the stamina and drive to work hard, and take great satisfaction from being productive. With empathy as a strength, I am able to sense the feelings of others by imagining myself in their situations. As a relator, I enjoy cultivating relationships with others and find deep satisfaction in working hard with others to achieve a goal. My ultimate goal is to make a difference in every life I encounter on my journey and to let God's light and love shine through me as I care for those I come in contact with. "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." Galatians 6:2

The following is a paper written for the purposes of GNRS 505 Christian Formation, but one that I feel reflects
my heart and passion for nursing and the reasons why I feel that I am called to the field of nursing.
I hope you enjoy reading it and learning more about me in the process!
